A 19th Century Carved Giltwood Tabernacle Frame. The domed pediment having a cavetto moulded border decorated with stiff leaves, surmounted by foliate crested roundels and framing a scallop shell ornament to the centre. The frieze embellished with anthemion motifs and scrollwork. The aperture flanked by columns enriched with elaborately decorated bands depicting satyr heads over bachanalian cherubs. The plinth base with scrolling apron piece, 22½” x 9½” (57 cm x 24 cm).
