The hinged lid boldly carved with profile portrait heads of man & wife in sunken oval medallions flanking a crested carved gouge carved with inscription ‘TANTO MONTA’. The fornt and sides carved with panels of foliate scrolls and flaming cornucopia, and adorned with turned spindles to the corners above a gadrooned base on carved sledge feet, 17” (43 cm) high, 37” (94 cm) wide, 16” (41 cm).
