A 19th Century Cased Sike’s Hydrometer with eight weights and thermometer. The thermometer scale marked Somalvico & Co London. The rectangular mahogany case inlaid with chequered stringing and a plaque to the lid marked; ‘Sike’s Hydrometer by Bate London’. [Given to the vendor in 1977 by the then Senior Partner of Lancaster’s Barnsley Chartered Surveyors, used by them when acting on pub tenancy changes primarily for Barnsley Brewery and John Smiths].
