A Fine William & Mary Style Carved Walnut & Tapestry Armchair of good colour and patination. The tall rectangular back and sprung seat covered in 17th century tapestry fragments trimmed with tassels. The arms having scroll knop terminals carved with foliate flourishes and resting on scroll supports adorned with pendant strings of beading. The voluted ‘Briganza’ style front legs united by an elaborate pierced front rail above a turned H-form stretcher, 47½” (121 cm) high, 26” (66 cm) wide.
