Description
A Small 17th Century Florentine Painted Cassoné. The rectangular lid having applied edge moulding and a raised moulded panel to the centre painted with scrolling foliate design within a beaded border, opening to reveal a lidded till to one end of the interior. The front divided by break-front painted faux fluted pilasters, into a principal centre panel emblazoned with a winged angel head amidst scrolls of flowers & foliage, flanked by small side panels, above a cushion moulded base raised on naively carved lion paw feet, 23” (59 cm) high, 43” (110 cm) wide, 14½” (37 cm) deep.
