A Pair of Fine Quality Cased 40 Bore Percussion Duelling Pistols by Forsyth of London, Circa 1825. The 9½” (24 cm) long octagonal damascened steel barrels inscribed along the top FORSYTH & CO PATENT GUN MAKERS LONDON above a walnut half stock with ram rod and crosshatched butt. The lockplates & trigger guards intricately engraved with scrolling foliage and signed again on the lockplate FORSYTH & Co PATENT. The hammers engraved as dolphins.
