A Late 18th/Early 19th Century Tortoiseshell Veneered Statuette Portico. The rectangular top surmounted by sheet metal pediment pieces pierced and embossed with scrolls of acanthus festooned in laurel garlands and having a classical urn each side. The six red tortoiseshell half-column upright supports adorned with crowns of sheet metal leaves, and flanking a marquetried back panel inlaid with geometric compass stars. The platform base banded in ebony outlined with bone stringing and incorporating three glazed reliquaries to the bulge front frieze embellished with beads and silver wirework, 31” *79 cm) high, 23” (59 cm) wide, 8½” (22 cm) deep.
