Description
A 17th Century Leather Clad Dome-topped Trunk ornamented with decorative brass studs. The hinged lid divided by interwoven studded leather straps into a grid of rectangular panels framing the date 1676 and initials R.K. The grid continued to the front with sheet metal corner brackets and an iron hasp, lock & key to the centre above a subsidiary lock securing a fall front section to the base. The interior lined in marbled paper. The sides fitted with swing handles, 20” (51 cm) high, 36” (91 cm) wide, 20½” (52 cm) deep.
