Two Japanese E-kagami in a lacquered case accompanied by an easel stand. The silvered bronze hand-mirrors having circular reflectors on paddle handles with decoration to the backs: One relief cast with calligraphy alongside cranes amidst pine trees, bamboo and blossom by waters-edge with turtles, 12½” (31.5 cm) in length. The other emblazoned with a five-petalled flower head encircled by a band displayed against a matted ground 13½” (34 cm) in length. The case embellished with gilt stems of scrolling tendrils, flowers & foliage on a black lacquer ground. The hinges stand tethered by a tasseled cord, 21½” (55 cm) high, 8¾” (22 cm) wide.
