Description
A Large 18th Century Thames Valley Comb-back Windsor Armchair. The slightly arched top rail with upswept lobe terminals above a tall shaped fruitwood centre splat flanked by two long stick spindles and ash side splats either side, piercing through the arm-bow with four further underarm spindles to the sides and shaped splats to the ends. The generous elm seat morticed and wedged to cabriole legs on pad feet united by a turned H-form stretcher. 45” (115 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide, the seat 18” (46 cm) high.
