The twin panel lid on iron loop hinges above a carved frieze rail of foliate C-scrolls and two panels centred by daisy wheels within gouge carved lozenge motifs with fluttering pennant terminals, interspersed with punch-worked quatrefoil embellishments. The base having a later applied moulding strip, 22½ in (57 cm) high, 40 in (102 cm) wide, 19 in (48 cm) deep.
