The settee having an upholstered back curved in at the sides, and a sprung concave-fronted seat covered in an ivory ‘brocade’ woven with small sprigs of white roses between stripes of wedgwood blue, and edged in braid. The frame enriched with scrolling foliate inlay and stringing, and standing on square tapering legs with spade feet, 34” (86.5 cm) high, 48” (122 cm) wide. The armchair having a shield-shaped back with a pierced and decoratively inlaid centre splat, a sprung serpentine front seat and square legs tapering down to spade feet.
