A Fabulous Early 17th Century Boarded Oak Coffer of rich colour & patination. The warped, single plank lid with twin reeded edge and iron loop hinges. The front board emblazoned with two bold flower head roundels in rectangular reserves with chip carved floral ornamentation to the corners in dotted borders, flanking an iron lock plate above a small lozenge carved motif. Supported by the end planks with arched spandrels to the front, 28” (71.5 cm) high, 56¾” (144 cm) wide, 19” (48 cm) deep.
