A Fine Russian Fabergé Enamelled Silver & Gilt Compact Case of rectangular form. The black enamelled exterior centred by a round lavender blue guilloché enamelled mount adorned with Russian Imperial insignia encrusted with diamonds within a diamond studded ring surmounted by a ribbon bow. The hinged side adorned with stylish trefoil-ended brackets set with diamonds, and having further stones adorning the thumb piece. The gilt interior stamped 84 with AH maker’s mark; that of August Wilhelm Holmström or his son Albert Holmström (1876-1925). 2¼” x 2” (5.5 cm x 5 cm).
