A Fine 18th Century French Pierced Brass Wine Cooler/Jardiniere with engraved repoussé decoration. The oval container having a later pierced zinc liner. The rope-twist rim above a waisted collar of pierced rosettes and bulge sides adorned with scrolling acanthus. Each end emblazoned with a lion mask bearing a twisted ring handle in its mouth, and raised on lion-paw feet 9½” (24 cm) high, 19” x 12” (48 cm x 30 cm).
