Description
A 19th Century Carved Oak Copy of ‘The Glastonbury Chair’; an early 16th century folding chair on X-frame supports with wedged through tenon joints, carved inscriptions to the top rail and downswept arms, and a wheel motif to the back panel. The plank seat with printed paper ownership label to the underside ; ‘Sir Alfred Slade, Maunsel House’ (Somerset). [See ‘Oak Furniture The British Tradition’ by Victor Chinnery, Page 220 Fig 3:1].
