A 16th Century Swiss Marriage Casket. The rectangular wooden box elaborately carved with interlaced scrolls of foliage incorporating a pair of armorial crests to the hinged lid and a scrolled cartouche surrounding the keyhole. The moulded base adorned with a band of tracery motifs and raised on bracket feet, 7½” (19 cm) high, 10½” (26.5 cm) wide, 7¼” (18.5 cm) deep.
