A Charming 19th Century Dutch Painted Folk Art Hindeloopen Table. The oval top painted with a delightful scene depicting figures and a canal, with a lock-keeper’s house, dated 1703 to one side, and a ‘veghtover’ house with it’s hexagonal spire-topped outhouse to the other, framed within a raised border. The stand composed of an A-frame and pivoting gate all intricately painted with a mass of scrolling foliage on a red ground terminating on turned feet. The oval top measuring 28½” x 21½” (72.5 cm x 54.5 cm). standing 37½” (95 cm) high [folded up] and 24” (61 cm) high [top down].
