A Small 18th Century Casket of rectangular form intricately carved in the manner of Cesar Bagard, with The Pelican in her Piety beneath inscription ‘ JE MEURS D’AMOUR POUR VOUS’ [I am dying of love for you] to a roundel centring the lid amidst elaborate scrolls of flowers and foliage. The lavishly scrolling foliate carving continuing around the front, back and sides. The front fitted with a lock and key, 3” (9.5 cm) high, 6¾” (17 cm) wide, 4½” (11.5 cm) deep.
