The boarded oak chest clad in leather and bound in decoratively pierced & studded iron straps, adorned with wrought iron flower head appliqués and shaped protuberant sheet iron fins to the sides. The lid fitted a swing handle centred by a stepped square knop. The front having a sprung iron lock & key. Standing on outswept feet 20½ in (52 cm) high [handle up], 21½ in (51 cm) wide, 13½ in (34 cm) deep.
