A 17th Century Joined Oak Provincial Wainscot Chair. The top rail with cut-in shape to the centre above two carved out recesses displaying the date 1677 against the sunken pitted ground. The twin panel back in a moulded frame carved with initials PWM to the central muntin and enhanced with run moulding to the sides. The arms on turned supports leading down to a planked seat on columnar legs united by peripheral stretchers, 36¾” (93 cm) high, 22” (56 cm) wide.*
