The lid panels in a channel-moulded frame on iron butterfly hinges opening to reveal an open trough above a small partitioned shelf to one end of the interior. The facade panels carved with decorative lozenge motifs enriched with punch-work and having initials ND ED and date 1682 to the upper corners in small rectangular recesses. Standing on run moulded stiles 34½” (76 cm) high, 69” (175 cm) wide, 25” (64 cm) deep.
