The hinged copper lid inlaid in brass with a harbour/townscape with sailing boats in the foreground enhanced with engraving, with a scrolling pennant to the corner inscribed ‘Rotterdam’. The brass sides engraved with scrolling foliage in zigzag bands with tulips to the canted ends,. The copper base inlaid with a brass armorial crest, 1¼” (3.5 cm) high, 6¼” (16 cm) wide, 2½” (6.5 cm) deep.
