A Fine Carved Oak Baroque Choir Stall from the Chapel of Château de Colombes. The flat moulded top above a panelled back and two hinged seats rising to reveal carved misericords. The shaped seat divided carved with winged angel heads, flowers and foliage, 41” (104 cm) high, 51” (130 cm) wide, 17¾” (45 cm) deep. [The Château de Colombes was owned by Henrietta Maria of France, daughter of Henri IV and Marie de Médici and sister of Louis XIII, who lived there after the death of her husband Charles I of England from 1657 until her death in 1669. The pew was sent by Bois Colombes to Paris (original labels still on back), bought from the Parisian art trade in 1981 to a private collector in Münster,Germany where it has remained until recently]
