Description
A Group of Carved Oak Ornamental Fragments: Two pairs of pilasters; one pair being 18th century of half column form entwined in stems of husk flowers and foliage, 18¾” (47.5 cm) in height, the other 19th century oak barleytwist columns entwined in fruiting vine beneath scrolled Corinthian style capitals, 19¼” (49 cm) in height. A Pair of 17th Century oak furniture spandrels pierced & carved on both sides with crested foliate sprays coiled around quatrefoil flower-heads, 9” (23 cm) high, 4¼” (11 cm) deep. A pair of small oak appliqués carved with foliate crested cherub heads above folded feathery wings, 4” x 2¼” (10 cm x 6 cm). And a pair of oak pilaster caps carved with upswept crested leaves radiating from a small pendant flower head finial, 3¼” (8 cm) high, 6” (15 cm) wide, 4¼” (11 cm) deep.
