A 17th Century Walnut Strong Box on Later Stand. The rectangular box bound in studded iron straps with a hasp (lacking hinge pin) & lock plate to the front, shaped brackets to the corners and iron swing handles mounted either side. The stand with inverted cup knopped baluster supports on sledge feet united by a central stretcher, 35” (89 cm) high, the box 11½” (29 cm) high, 21½” (55 cm) wide, 12½” (32 cm) deep.
