A Group of Three 19th Century Treen Sailor’s Seam Rubbers: The largest possibly alternatively a plumbers chase wedge, of richly patinated fruitwood, stamped either side of the wedge and along the turned handle ‘J. NICHOLSON’, with incised ring decoration and an iron collar reinforcing the finial end with signs of hammer blows, 8¼” (21 cm) in length. The second having a rustic stick handle with faceted finial, 4½” (11.5 cm) in length. The third having a carved wrythen fluted handle and facet cut knop finial, 4¼” (22 cm) in length.
