Description
A Collection of Fourteen 19th Century Horn Beakers and two Mugs; four of the beakers enriched with engraving: Two depicting hunting scenes; one of which inscribed ‘THOMAS’ 4¾” (12 cm) high, the other 5” (13 cm) high. One with a charming scene spiraling around the sides depicting men pulling a bull to the top, ensued by a steam train & carriages, with a small group of people to the base, 4½” (11.5 cm) high. The fourth inscribed ‘THOMAS’ flanked by tree with an inset white metal shield above an engraved hunting hound, 4” (10 cm) in height. Another beaker mounted with a white metal rim band with serpentine cut edge and an engraved shield to the front with inscription to the back; ‘Brandy makes you well when you are ill Brandy makes you ill when you are well’, 3½” (9 cm) high.
