Description
Four 20th Century Chinese Stands; two of carved hardwood, the others black lacquered with intricate mother-of-pearl inlay. The round-topped wooden stand having a pierced bulge frieze carved with scrollwork and raised on ogee-headed claw foot supports, 5½” (14 cm) high, 10¼” (26 cm) in diameter. The smaller square topped stand with a round recess to the top above pierced bulge apron and four small scroll feet, 3” (7.5 cm) high, 7” x 6½” (18 cm x 16.5 cm). The rectangular topped lacquered stand in the form of a low table; the top with three panels depicting a stag and birds in a decorative border of floral sprays and geometric chequer-work, on round turned legs united by peripheral stretchers, 3¼” (8 cm) high, 12½” x 6¼” (32 cm x 16 cm). The other having two stepped tiers above key pattern scroll supports with micro mosaic inlay, 2¾” 7 cm) high, 10” x 2½” (25.5 cm x 6.5 cm).
