Description
An 18th Century French Oak Long-case Clock. The brass face engraved with scrolling stems of tulips and signed NATIVELLE below the centre with a single pierced hand encircled by a 7½” (19 cm) diameter chapter ring. The black engraved Roman numeral hour markers divided by half outer marks, with minute divisions to an inner border and dog-tooth engraving to the outer rim, surmounted by a pierced heraldic crest depicting lions rampant regardant flanking a crowned cartouche. The movement striking a domed bell to the top and set in a tall oak case with a dome-topped moulded hood and paneled case on plinth base, 96½” (245 cm) in height.
