Description
A Pair of Fine George III Hepplewhite Style Carved Mahogany Knife Urns raised on Pedestal Cabinets. The urns having rising domed lids with carved bell-flowers and fluting radiating from the centre and surmounted by a turned finial. The nulled shoulder bands carved with rams’ heads bearing pendant garlands of interlaced ribbons between wreaths and swagged chains of bell-flowers. Standing on square pedestals with fanned leaves rising from the stems, 26” (66 cm) in height. The cabinets edged with a band of vitruvian waves to each top above a nulled frieze adorned with beading and paterae. The flamed figured doors embellished with garlands of bell-flowers tied in fluttering ribbon bows, flanked by canted corners carved with rams head mounts. Standing on moulded plinths 39½” (100 cm) high, 23” (58 cm) wide, 21¼” (54 cm) deep.
