Description
A Late 17th Century Carved Oak Mule Chest with hidden drawer. The planked lid with moulded edge opening to reveal a lidded candle box to the interior. The triple panel front carved with interlaced guilloche strap-work encircling wrythen rosettes and flower heads to the centre framed by chip carved muntins. The frieze rail naively carved with undulating vine and initials GC either side. The run-moulded base rail being a drawer front. Standing on stile supports 32” (81 cm) high, 52½” (133 cm) wide, 24” (61 cm) deep.
