The pestle having an ornately turned neck below a bulbous knop handle drilled to the centre with a cord hole running down the shaft of the pestle with three pierced apertures below a curb collar above the metal grater. The grater enclosed within the ring moulded mortar by a screw-off lip, 5¾” (14.5 cm) in height.*
