Description
A Wooden Trug containing a painted pub sign, two slate boards, a washboard and a tin-plate ‘spook’. The rectangular trug with splayed trapezoid sides secured by nails and metal corner straps, and a metal hoop handle; one end stencilled BOLLINGER, 13½” (34 cm) high, 16” x 12” (41 cm x 31 cm). The pub sign hand painted; ‘Leslie Wooton Lovell Licensed Retailer of Beer to be Consumed on the Premises, Dealer in Tobacco’, 4½” x 36” (11 cm x 92 cm). One Grocer’s slate board painted ‘Bread Large 3d Small 1½d Pies Tatts Meats Etc’, 12½” x 8¾” (32 cm x 22 cm), another slate board 11½” x 8¾” (29 cm x 22 cm). A Dubl. Handi travelling washing board by Columbus Co. Ohio 18” x 8¾” (46 cm x 21.5 cm) and a spray painted sheet metal cat spook with inset glass marble eyes, 14” (36 cm) in length.
