Two Unusual 19th Century Fruitwood & Elm Square-backed Windsor Chairs; an armchair and side chair, attributed to Buckinghamshire. The top rails slightly flared to the upper corners and edged with incised border lines, above splayed uprights flanking an X-frame back adorned with a turned roundel to the centre encircled by a ring of concentric moulding. The elm seats edged with incised rim lines, morticed through and wedged with baluster turned legs united by crinoline stretchers. Both 33½” (85 cm) high, the seats 17¾” (45 cm) high. The arm chair with curved supports 22½” (57 cm) wide, the side chair 17¾” (45 cm) wide.
