The larger rush-light having a candle socket on an upswept arm counter-weighting the rush jaw, with the stem driven into a rectangular wooden base 11½” (29 cm) in height. The small one with a wrapped sheet metal candle socket and wrythen stem leading down to a later wooden base, 7½” (19 cm) in height.
