A 19th Century Anglo Chinese Two Part Military Campaign Chest with Secrètaire. The upper chest having a hinged centre section with recessed brass handle to the top, falling forward to reveal a writing slope enclosing stationary well and pigeon holes below a partitioned pen & ink drawer with ring pull handle. The secrètaire flanked by a deep drawer to one side and two small drawers to the other above two drawers below. The base chest housing a further two long drawers all with recessed brass swing handles and inlaid brass stringing embellished with fleur de lis motifs at the corners, framed by ebonised reeding to the divides, 42½” (108 cm) high, 42 (107 cm) wide, 19¾” (50 cm) deep.
