The signed boxes exquisitely decorated in intricate detail with figural scenes on a black lacquered ground with gilt embellishments to the borders and red lacquered interiors: The largest decorated with a ring of ladies dancing to an accordionist & lutenist in landscape, 2” 95 cm) high, 5½” (14 cm) wide, 6¼” (16 cm) deep. The next having a rectangular serpentine edges lid with raised oval panel to the centre depicting figures in horse drawer sleigh, 1¼” (3 cm) high, 4¾” (12 cm) wide, 3½” (9 cm) deep. The third depicting an allegory with archer on horseback to the slightly domed square lid, 1¼” (3 cm) high, 3½” (9 cm) wide,. The smallest with figures in a horse drawn sleigh, 1½” (4 cm) high, 4” (10 cm) wide, 2½” (6.5 cm) deep. The lacquered wooden egg painted with a saint and surmounted by a teardrop finial with cross, mounted on a turned pedestal stand 9¾” (25 cm) high [inclusive].
