A Large 18th Century Thames Valley Comb-back Windsor Armchair. The slightly arched top rail with upswept lobe terminals above a tall shaped fruitwood centre splat flanked by two long stick spindles and ash side splats either side, piercing through the arm-bow with four further underarm spindles to the sides and shaped splat splats to the ends. The generous elm seat morticed and wedged to cabriole legs on pad feet united by a turned H-form stretcher. 45” (1154 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide, the seat 18” (46 cm) high.
