Description
A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair, Circa 1680. The deep, shaped cresting rail enriched with voluted scrolls issuing sprays of foliage flanking a central tulip. The panel back carved with a lozenge motif containing a quatrefoil design to the centre with gouge carved with fluttering pennants to the corners. The arms on gun barrel turned posts leading down to an altered seat with drop-in padded panel above gun barrel turned legs united by peripheral stretchers. 45¾” (116 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide.
