A Fine Quality 19th Century Treen Love-Token/ Cheroot Holder. The body elaborately carved in the form of a mermaid holding a fish with gaping mouth. The mermaid’s long, finely detailed hair swept up at the end and held by the winged figure of Cupid depicted in intricate detail with curly hair, feathery wings, a quiver hung at his side, poised ready to joust an arrow. The mouth piece screwing into the end of the mermaid’s tail, 6½” (16.5 cm) in length. Fitted in the original case lined with chamois.
