A Fabulous 15th Century Oak ‘Poppy-head’ Pew End Finial, attributed to East Anglia, of a good rich colour & patination. The angular lobes richly carved with vine issuing pendulous bunches of grapes, and incorporating a bearded man wearing a cap emerging from a fan of foliage to the top, above a moulded elongated hexagonal collar. The carving measuring 13” (33 cm) in height, raised on a modern display stand with round limestone base, 19½” (50 cm) high.
