A Charming Late 17th Century Boarded Oak Child’s Coffer. The plank top on iron strap hinges with reeded edge moulding and an iron hasp pierced through the front to meet the lock plate. The front board carved with the initials E and W defined in small recessed panels between run moulded channels enhanced with chip carving. The piece raised on supporting end boards with cut-in ogee arches topped by pierced circles forming the feet, 19” (48 cm) high, 29” (74 cm) wide, 12½” (32 cm) deep.*
