A Rare 18th Century Ash & Elm Comb-back Windsor Armchair. The cresting rail having outswept terminals and a central fanned motif above a broad upper splat pierced with decoration, flanked by six long stick spindles; three either side, piercing through a three-part arm bow, with three central upper splat spindles and 10 further spindle piercing the arm rests; five each side with a bent ash end support. The elm seat displaying the wedged rectangular tenons of the splayed, square-section legs, with gouge moulding running down the sides leading to rounded terminals, 43½” (103 cm) high, the seat 15” (38 cm) high, 21” (53 cm) wide.
