An unusual vintage silk-work panel depicting three tiers of hanging plush-work baskets cascading festoons of pretty appliqués blossom and embroidered silk foliage on an ivory silk ground edged with blue taffeta ribbon, 15¾” x 19¾” (40 cm x 50 cm). A long 19th century embroidery worked in wools and silky threads with an undulating pendant garland of flowers and foliage, exotic birds and butterflies, 38” x 9” (96.5 cm x 23 cm).
