A 19th Century French Chestnut Armoire attributed to Brittany. The ventilated cupboard having decorative moulded sides and doors with rows of turned spindles to the open panels, and ornamental roundels of radiating spindle-turned spokes. The upper section centred by a statuette niche with protuberant demi-lune gallery and a replacement lime-wood carving of the Madonna. The base with an open section behind run-moulded silhouette cut splats. Standing on bun feet 81 in (206 cm) high, 38 in (97 cm) wide, 19½ in (49 cm) deep.
