Description
A 19th Century French Comtoise Clock. The convex enamel dial signed Roux à Pipriac and set in a sheet brass arch-topped surround pierced and embossed with depiction of Rebekah at the well to the top and floriate scrolls to the spandrels. The movement with two lead weights and a large brass grid-iron pendulum. The associated golden oak case having a cavetto moulded pediment, long trunk door with moulded panels and a glazed heart shaped aperture to the centre, and a moulded arch panelled base inlaid with parquetry star, 96” (144 cm) in height.
