A Rare 19th Century Mahogany Metamorphic Side Table/Library Steps. The rectangular one piece top with moulded edge above two dummy-fronted end drawers bordered with satinwood bands and inlaid with ebony stringing. The lower drawer pulling out and dropping down to form four library steps with tooled leather inserts to the treads. Standing on square legs with spade feet 30½” (77.5 cm) high, 18¾” (47.5 cm) deep, 30” (76 cm) wide.
