A 17th/18th Century Oak Alms Box. The near square lid with iron strap hinges pierced with a coin slot to the top and carved ‘IX’. The box bound in iron corner straps to the base and fitted with an iron hasp and shield shaped lockplate, 9¾” (25 cm) high, 9¼” (23.5 cm) wide, 9” (23 cm) deep.
