A Dug-out Wooden Box with sliding lid, possibly Spanish. The lid carved with inscriptions, motifs; a prawn, fleur-de-lis & hearts, and bearing a date 1547. One side enriched with geometric flower-head roundels and a guilloche knot. The other with interlinked strap-work lunettes. Standing on plinth moulding, 3½” (9 cm) high, 10” (25.5 cm) in length, 5” (13 cm) wide.
